I understand Service Offerings for CPU/RAM, but what exactly is a Network Offering?

A Network Offering defines the networking services available to a CloudStack network.

Depending on the configuration, it can specify services such as:

  • DHCP

  • DNS

  • Source NAT

  • Static NAT

  • Port Forwarding

  • Firewall

  • Load Balancing

  • VPN

So the distinction is:

Service Offering
→ CPU / RAM / bandwidth characteristics

Disk Offering
→ Storage characteristics

Network Offering
→ Network services

This becomes particularly important when troubleshooting why a particular network service isn’t available.
